Tragedia Othello se crede ca a fost reprezentata pentru prima oara in 1604. Intre 1601 si 1608 Shakespeare a scris cele mai insemnate dintre piesele sale, intre care: Julius Caesar (1601); Othello (1604); King Lear (1605); Machbeth (1606).
