Fables
The usual mainspring of fables consists in attributing to animals the conventions of men. The metaphorical figure of the animal thus allows a critical approach to humanity. Karen Knorr's Fables have another object: animals evolve naturally in the territory of men. The strangeness of the Fables series does not only reside in this contrast between nature and culture. It results from a complex formal game in which the technical dexterity of the artist is revealed. In her compositions, Karen K. skilfully mixes analog and digital photography.
